Ottawa's Intimate Heritage Venue

Where Intimate Weddings
Become Extraordinary
Since 1890
Built in 1890 as a one-room schoolhouse in Munster, Ontario, Ashlar has been a place of gathering for over 130 years. Its two-foot-thick stone walls endured a devastating fire in 2001 and now stand restored for something new: your most meaningful celebrations. Just 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa, this heritage space is designed for intimate weddings of 20 to 55 guests and couples who value intention, atmosphere, and timeless character.
An Intimate Wedding
at Ashlar
Everything.
Taken care of.
Transparent pricing with no surprises. You do not hire a caterer. You do not need to negotiate with a rental company. Your job is to show up, be present, and let us handle the rest.
Chef
Josh
Gillard
30 years in Ottawa's best kitchens. Head Chef at Amuse Kitchen and Wine. He joined Ashlar because he wanted to cook for 30 people who all know each other, not 300 who don't.
More than
weddings
The same stone walls, chef-driven dining, and exclusive-use privacy. For groups of 20 to 55 who want something different than a hotel, restaurant, or hall.
