Ashlar is one of the only small wedding venues in Ottawa designed from the ground up for 30 to 65 guests. This isn't a venue that happens to fit smaller groups; every detail, from the courtyard scale to the kitchen workflow, was built around the intimate wedding experience.

Every couple married at Ashlar receives the same signature experience. The property is yours for the day, dinner is cooked on site by our culinary team, and your venue director and service team keep the day running from your first planning meeting through to your last song.

Three date tiers, each with its own price per guest and its own guest minimum. The day you choose sets the dining rate, and a $2,500 venue fee applies to every tier. The dining and the inclusions are the same on every date.

Every wedding is priced the same way: a $2,500 venue fee, dining charged per guest at your date's tier, an optional bar package, and any additions. Gratuity of 15% and HST of 13% are applied to the full subtotal at invoice. Dining starts at $169 per guest, and most weddings fall between $10,000 and $25,000.
The menu and the inclusions are the same on every date. Only the dining rate moves, set by the day of the week and the season. Saturdays from May to October are Tier One at $209 per guest. Fridays and Sundays in that window, and Saturdays from November to April, are Tier Two at $189. Weekdays year-round are Tier Three at $169. Marquee dates and long weekends bill at Tier One.
No. The calendar shows what each date costs, not whether it is free, and no date on it is marked as booked or unavailable. The colours are the three dining tiers. Send us the date you have in mind and we will confirm availability within 72 hours.
Between 30 and 65. Each tier carries its own minimum: 50 guests for Tier One, 40 for Tier Two, and 30 for Tier Three. Below the minimum for your date, dining bills at that minimum, counted on adult guests.
Exclusive use of the entire property from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. — the schoolhouse, the courtyard, the gardens and a weather-proof tent, with indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces decided on the day. A dedicated venue director from your first planning meeting to the end of the night, vendor coordination, floor plan and timeline planning, and setup and teardown of up to five boxes of decor. A three course plated dinner cooked on site, five passed hors d'oeuvres, table wine with dinner, and one late-night station. All tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, flatware and glassware, and on-site parking.
Florals, photography, music, transportation and an officiant are arranged through your own vendors. Open bar packages are priced per guest and chosen separately, and additions such as enhanced dining moments, late-night additions and extended hours are quoted on request.
Yes. Every dietary need is handled. Chef Josh Gillard builds menus from scratch and adjusts for allergies, intolerances and preferences. Every menu carries three mains, one of them always vegetarian, and a complimentary tasting is offered before your wedding, subject to availability.
Yes. 2028 dates are open now at 2027 rates. Rates rise for the 2028 season, and couples who confirm early keep this year's figures.
No. Ashlar hosts one wedding per day. The entire property is yours from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., including the schoolhouse, the courtyard, the gardens, the bridal suite and on-site parking.
Ashlar is at 2876 Munster Road in Munster, Ontario — about 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa, 20 minutes from Kanata and 15 minutes from Stittsville. Hotel accommodation is available in Kanata, Stittsville and Richmond.
